IRS resumes issuing taxpayer delinquency investigation notices for Forms 5500 and 5500EZ
The IRS has begun mailing taxpayer delinquency investigation notices to employers that have failed to timely file Forms 5500 and 5500EZ for plan year ending December 31, 2004. Some employers that have fully complied with filing obligations may still receive notices. The IRS does plan to correct its records, however, employers should still respond to the notice as requested.
