Hotels, resorts, restaurants, ski areas, and transportation systems have all been affected by September 11. People are rethinking when, how, and where to travel. For so long travel was considered a mainstay of the way we do business and even the way we connect with family and friends, or take those well deserved vacation days. Times are different now. Stepped-up security at airports has resulted in better peace of mind but it has also created inconveniences to the flying public and cancellations to the carriers. Hotels are still reeling from the loss of convention business and find themselves in fierce competition for visitors.
